Charli XCX cancels Wednesday Glendale concert

Charli XCX’s Oct. 21 concert at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale is canceled. Ticketmaster buyers should receive automatic refunds.

Charli XCX has canceled her Wednesday night concert at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, ending plans for the Arizona stop on her Music, Fashion, Film Tour hours before the scheduled performance.

The official Ticketmaster listing marks the Oct. 21 show as canceled. The concert had been scheduled for 8 p.m. at the arena, 9400 W. Maryland Ave.

In a social-media statement posted Tuesday and reported by Arizona’s Family, the singer said she had been fighting an illness and had lost her voice. She said her team could not secure another date at the venue.

That distinction matters for ticket holders. The event is listed as canceled, rather than postponed or rescheduled, so fans should follow refund instructions from the company that sold their tickets.

How Ticketmaster refunds work

Ticketmaster says customers who bought tickets directly through its platform generally do not need to submit a refund request. According to the company’s canceled-event policy, the refund is returned to the original payment method after Ticketmaster receives funds from the event organizer. The company says it usually appears within 14 to 21 days.

Different procedures can apply to transferred tickets, resale purchases and tickets bought at a venue box office. Ticket holders should check the email associated with the purchase and the order in their Ticketmaster account for instructions specific to the transaction. Anyone who purchased through another seller should contact that point of purchase.

Ticketmaster’s broader policy says refunds for canceled events can include separately purchased extras or upgrades, such as parking, when those items were bought through Ticketmaster. Travel, lodging and other outside expenses are not covered by the ticketing company’s policy.

No replacement Glendale date announced

The Glendale performance was the second-to-last U.S. date listed in Live Nation’s original tour announcement. No replacement Arizona date has been announced.

Fans should use the Ticketmaster order page and the arena’s official channels for any later changes. The canceled designation remained on the official event listing early Wednesday.
