This West Valley Post tracker follows TSMC Arizona, the supplier ecosystem growing around its north Phoenix campus and the related development spreading through north and west metro Phoenix.

Current status

TSMC Arizona: Major expansion underway. In July 2026, TSMC announced an additional $100 billion Arizona investment, bringing its announced Arizona total to $265 billion.
Long-term campus plan: The current announced Arizona plan includes 10 semiconductor fabs, two advanced-packaging facilities and an R&D center.
First fab: In production. TSMC’s first Arizona fab has been in volume production of N4 technology since late 2024.
Second fab: Construction complete; production expected in the second half of 2027. Arizona Commerce Authority material says construction is complete. TSMC told shareholders in June 2026 that it expects high-volume manufacturing to begin in the second half of 2027 using 3-nanometer process technology.
Third fab: Under construction; structural topping reached in May 2026. TSMC says it broke ground in April 2025 and celebrated the fab’s topping milestone in May 2026. The fab is planned to use N2 and A16 technologies, with volume production targeted by the end of the decade.
Fourth fab and first advanced-packaging fab: Initial construction stages underway. TSMC’s current Arizona project page says initial construction began in early 2026. The company has not published production-start dates for either facility on that page.
Expansion land: Acquired. TSMC said in June 2026 that it had completed the purchase of a second large parcel near its existing Arizona campus to support the announced expansion and provide additional capacity flexibility.
Industrial water-reclamation plant: Planned for completion in 2028. TSMC says the facility is designed to enable reclamation of at least 90% of water used at the Arizona operation, with a near-zero-liquid-discharge design goal.
High NA EUV roadmap: Companywide 2030 production target; Arizona fab not specified. On Sept. 8, 2026, TSMC and ASML said TSMC intends to use High NA lithography in high-volume advanced-node manufacturing beginning in 2030. Their larger 12-inch photomask initiative targets a pilot line by 2031 and system readiness by 2033. The announcement did not assign the technology to a Phoenix fab.
Workforce: TSMC Arizona reported more than 3,500 Arizona employees as of the July 2026 expansion announcement.
Supplier ecosystem: Expanding. Arizona says more than 70 semiconductor expansions have been attracted since 2020. Phoenix officials have said TSMC suppliers are now located across every City Council district.
Taiwan representative office in Phoenix: Open. The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office officially opened Oct. 5, 2026. The office serves Arizona and New Mexico and is intended to support Taiwanese companies establishing and operating Arizona facilities. At the opening, the Arizona Commerce Authority and Taiwan’s National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Association signed an agreement covering startups, investor matchmaking, talent, research and supply-chain integration. The agreement did not announce a specific factory, tenant or public investment.
Cica-Huntek: Open. The Taiwan-based chemical-delivery-system supplier opened an approximately 25,880-square-foot Phoenix facility in July 2026 after an investment of roughly $8 million.
Gudeng Precision Industrial in Glendale: Open. The Taiwan-based manufacturer opened its first U.S. manufacturing site Oct. 6 at 5260 W. Phelps Road. The 12,000-square-foot facility represents $5 million in investment, is expected to support more than 30 jobs and will make semiconductor and aircraft and aerospace components. The opening announcement did not identify customers, current headcount, production capacity or a full-ramp date.
Amkor Technology in Peoria: $12 billion campus expansion planned; phase 1 under construction. Amkor is building its advanced semiconductor packaging and test campus in the Peoria Innovation Core. On Sept. 8, 2026, the company announced phase 2 would add 60,000 square meters, or nearly 646,000 square feet, of cleanroom space, bringing planned cleanroom capacity across both phases to about 93,000 square meters, or roughly 1 million square feet. The planned investment is now approximately $12 billion, and both phases are expected to support more than 3,500 Arizona-based employees. Phase 1 production is expected to begin in early 2028; phase 2 construction is planned to start in late 2027 and finish by the end of 2029. Amkor describes the expanded campus as about 170 acres after securing an additional 67-acre parcel in May 2026.
Halo Vista: Under construction; auto mall land acquired. The 2,300-acre mixed-use project immediately adjacent to the TSMC campus held its groundbreaking in March 2026. De Rito Partners has completed a roughly $67.38 million purchase of about 130 acres for the planned 11-parcel Automall at Halo Vista. Seven dealership groups have committed to eight parcels, and first openings are targeted for 2028. The opening timetable remains a developer projection.
NorthPark: Approved long-term development framework. Phoenix approved the roughly 6,354-acre NorthPark planned unit development in December 2025. The plan, south of Loop 303 and across the freeway from TSMC, allows up to 15,150 homes, includes about 902 acres for an Innovation Corridor and designates roughly 2,309 acres as open space. The approval is an entitlement framework, not evidence that all phases are under construction.

Why the supplier network matters

TSMC’s impact extends well beyond the fab gates. Semiconductor manufacturing requires a dense network of equipment, chemical, gas, construction, packaging, engineering and logistics suppliers. Amkor adds another major part of that chain in the West Valley by building domestic advanced packaging and testing capacity in Peoria. Gudeng adds operating precision-manufacturing capacity in Glendale for both semiconductor and aerospace components. The broader ecosystem can influence employment and development across north Phoenix, Peoria, Glendale, Surprise and other West Valley communities even when a supplier is not located directly beside the TSMC campus. The new Taiwan office adds a local government and business-services channel for companies navigating investment, workforce, consular and supply-chain needs.
