This West Valley Post tracker follows TSMC Arizona, the supplier ecosystem growing around its north Phoenix campus and the related development spreading through north and west metro Phoenix.
Current status
- TSMC Arizona: Major expansion underway. In July 2026, TSMC announced an additional $100 billion Arizona investment, bringing its announced Arizona total to $265 billion.
- Long-term campus plan: The current announced Arizona plan includes 10 semiconductor fabs, two advanced-packaging facilities and an R&D center.
- First fab: In production. TSMC’s first Arizona fab has been in volume production of N4 technology since late 2024.
- Second fab: Construction complete; production expected in 2027. Arizona Commerce Authority material says the second fab is complete and expected to begin volume production in 2027 using 3-nanometer process technology.
- Workforce: TSMC Arizona reported more than 3,500 Arizona employees as of the July 2026 expansion announcement.
- Supplier ecosystem: Expanding. Arizona says more than 70 semiconductor expansions have been attracted since 2020. Phoenix officials have said TSMC suppliers are now located across every City Council district.
- Cica-Huntek: Open. The Taiwan-based chemical-delivery-system supplier opened an approximately 25,880-square-foot Phoenix facility in July 2026 after an investment of roughly $8 million.
- Amkor in Peoria: Expansion activity. The Arizona Commerce Authority listed Amkor among fiscal-year 2026 expansion projects, keeping advanced semiconductor packaging growth directly relevant to the West Valley.
- Halo Vista: Under construction. The 2,300-acre mixed-use project immediately adjacent to the TSMC campus held its groundbreaking in March 2026. Developers have described a long-term investment of approximately $7 billion.
Why the supplier network matters
TSMC’s impact extends well beyond the fab gates. Semiconductor manufacturing requires a dense network of equipment, chemical, gas, construction, packaging, engineering and logistics suppliers. That ecosystem can influence employment and development across north Phoenix, Peoria, Glendale, Surprise and other West Valley communities even when a supplier is not located directly beside the TSMC campus.
