The U.S. men’s national soccer team will face Mexico at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, bringing one of international soccer’s most familiar rivalries back to the West Valley.

For fans heading to the stadium, the most useful number may be four hours: parking lots, the box office and a free South Lawn block party open at 3 p.m. Stadium doors open at 5 p.m., two hours before kickoff.

Saturday’s event schedule

  • 3 p.m.: Parking lots, box office and South Lawn block party open
  • 5 p.m.: Stadium doors open
  • 7 p.m.: USA-Mexico kickoff

The block party is free to enter and is scheduled to include live music, games, food trucks, merchandise and giveaways. State Farm Stadium is at 1 Cardinals Drive, just south of Westgate Entertainment District.

Tickets and parking remain listed for sale through links on the stadium’s official event page. Everyone age 2 and older needs a ticket.

Bag and entry rules

The stadium recommends that fans leave bags at home. Permitted bags include one clear bag no larger than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches, or a standard one-gallon freezer bag. All bags and carried items will be searched, and guests will pass through metal detectors.

The stadium does not store prohibited bags or other items. Fans who arrive with something that cannot enter will be directed to return it to their vehicle.

Outside food is generally prohibited, except food for children younger than 2 and approved medical needs. Each guest may bring one factory-sealed, non-frozen bottle of plain water up to 500 milliliters, or 16.9 fluid ounces. Sports drinks and flavored water are not permitted.

Other prohibited items include coolers, drones, laptops, selfie sticks, noisemakers, umbrellas longer than 12 inches, professional camera lenses longer than 8 inches and weapons. The stadium’s complete clear-bag policy provides additional details.

Wheelchair assistance is available on a first-come, first-served basis after entry. A sensory room is located near Section 104, and family restrooms are available on the Main, Club and Terrace levels.

How to watch

U.S. Soccer lists the match for television and streaming on TNT, HBO Max, Telemundo, Universo and Peacock. English-language radio coverage is scheduled through Westwood One Sports, with Spanish-language coverage from Fútbol de Primera.
