Current status
- Banner Health Emergency Verrado, Buckeye: Opening expected November 2026. Banner Health recruitment material describes a new 14,500-square-foot freestanding emergency department at 20751 W. Market St. with 14 exam spaces, a trauma/treatment room and X-ray, CT and ultrasound capability.
- HonorHealth Deer Valley Medical Center: Major expansion completed in 2026. HonorHealth completed a roughly $170 million renovation and expansion that increased the hospital from 204 to 238 beds and added a four-story, 166,000-square-foot patient-care pavilion.
- HonorHealth Complete Care – Surprise: Open. HonorHealth operates a combined emergency-room and urgent-care facility at 16575 W. Waddell Road in Surprise.
- Asante / north Surprise hospital site: Planned / watchlist. Earlier development plans tied an HonorHealth hospital campus to the Asante area, while City of Surprise economic-development materials continue to identify hospital and medical-office uses as part of north Surprise growth. West Valley Post has not verified a 2026 vertical-construction start for a full hospital at that site, so it remains listed here as planned rather than under construction.
Why healthcare development matters
Population growth in the West Valley is pushing healthcare systems to expand emergency, inpatient and outpatient capacity farther from the metro core. Hospital development also tends to bring medical-office buildings, specialty clinics, pharmacies, restaurants and other supporting development, making healthcare campuses important anchors in emerging growth areas.

- Any verified construction, permitting or timeline change for the planned Asante-area hospital campus.
