This West Valley Post tracker follows the major transportation, employment, retail and development changes tied to Loop 303 from north Phoenix through Surprise, Glendale and the fast-growing West Valley corridor.
Current status
- US 60/Loop 303 near-term improvements: Complete. ADOT says a package of additional travel lanes, turn lanes, restriping, signs, signal-timing changes and railroad coordination was completed in February 2026.
- US 60/Loop 303 long-term improvements: Planned. ADOT and MAG are advancing long-term interchange work through Proposition 479 funding. Potential work includes reconfiguring the interchange and adding ramps that cross the nearby BNSF rail line.
- Loop 303/155th Avenue interchange: In design. The new interchange is intended to add access north of Loop 303 and relieve pressure on the existing US 60/Loop 303 and US 60/163rd Avenue intersections. ADOT says the first phase is expected to begin construction in 2028.
- Prasada / Cactus Road retail corridor: Expanding. Surprise has continued to add major retail and restaurant projects around Loop 303, including the Cactus Road corridor and the broader Prasada area. City publications have also identified Prasada East as an emerging project with Whole Foods and Flower Child appearing in permit applications under review.
- TSMC / north Phoenix employment cluster: Expanding. TSMC’s north Phoenix campus near the Loop 303/I-17 area has grown into a multi-fab semiconductor complex, while the adjacent 2,300-acre Halo Vista development entered construction in 2026.
- BNSF Logistics Park Phoenix: Under construction northwest of the corridor. BNSF began work in 2026 on a 350-acre first-phase intermodal facility on its larger northwest Maricopa County property. The project could materially increase freight activity and infrastructure pressure in the US 60/Loop 303 area as it develops.
Why Loop 303 matters
Loop 303 has become one of the West Valley’s most important growth spines, linking north Phoenix semiconductor investment with Surprise retail and industrial development, Glendale employment areas, I-10 and the western metro’s large land supply. The corridor’s long-term performance will depend on whether freeway access, arterial roads, utilities and public services keep pace with the scale of private development around it.
